Unique project school Tekucica

"This is one of the most interesting projects I've ever done. Not because of its construction but more because of its background. As you may know, the country is still torn apart by the three cultures in the country. The best thing about this project is that all 3 cultures (so Serbs, Muslims and Croats) are now working on this, so also cooperate And okay, you notice some scrambles here and there but in the end things are going well and everyone is proud of it too. And that the local government also cooperates well can be called completely unique ... "
These are the words of Dutchman Alexander van der Slikke, who, on behalf of the 'Bolji Zivot' foundation, is the great pioneer of this unique project. This foundation (financially supported by the Dutch foundation 'Verdouw continues') will realize this project, together with the Warmte voor de Kinder foundation and the local government, in which the roof of the school will be completely replaced and a new heating installation will be constructed. The planning is that everything is ready for the winter of 2020.

Contacts with Alexander were made a year earlier by Tom Visser of Warmte voor de Children and his wife Ljubica. They met in a previous project of Warmte voor de Kinder and there was immediately talked about the possible realization of this unique project. After consultation with the entire board of our foundation, it was decided to tackle this project with united forces, whereby we would of course take care of the heating installation! Tom Visser had already worked out in detail with the local installer, who had previously carried out work for the Warmte voor de Kinder foundation, the materials that should be used.

Unfortunately, Tom will no longer experience the realization of this project. He passed away on June 19 at the age of 68. As the board of Heat for the Children, we will do everything in our power to bring this project to a successful conclusion!
